Kalle Runemaster
There is a line between the eyes that wasn't placed
symmetrically.
The tongue is curled, which isn't a detail
seen on any other of Erik's stones.
Quite a few of the rune branches are curved, which shows
that Erik must have been sitting on the stone while working
on it and that he had not sketched up the runes beforehand.
There are two additional crosses on the stone,
different in style and of inferior execution. They
must
have been added later. The second one of the
additional crosses is situated on the edge of the
stone
and therefore not visible on the pictures to the
right.
The additional crosses have a
different shape than the ones Erik used to carve.
They might symbolise something different, maybe
something more important than the big crosses Erik
carved. Whatever the crosses meant, was it worth
sacrificing the looks of this piece of art?
I'd like to know the difference
between the crosses.
Can you tell me?
